Privacy Policy

Wefty's Playground is a free collection of browser mini-games at wefty.net. This policy explains exactly what we collect, why, and how you can have it removed. We keep it minimal on purpose — there are no ads, no analytics trackers, and no third-party advertising networks.
Playing without signing in
You can play without creating an account. The moment you load a game, we ask Firebase Authentication to create an anonymous user ID (UID) for your browser. This anonymous UID lets the games save your progress and submit scores, but it is not linked to your name, email, or any personal detail. It is a random identifier created automatically simply by playing.
Signing in with Google
If you choose to sign in — which is only needed to claim a spot on the public leaderboards — we use Firebase Authentication with Google Sign-In. From your Google account we receive and store:
- your email address, and
- your display name (and, if your Google profile has one, an avatar image URL).
We use your email only to identify your account. We do not send marketing email and we do not share your email with anyone.
The public leaderboards
Scores you submit are stored so we can rank them. When your score appears on a leaderboard, your display name and avatar are shown publicly alongside your best distance or score. Anyone viewing the leaderboard can see them. If you would rather not appear, do not submit a score, or contact us to have your entries removed.
Bug reports
If you send a bug report from within the site, we store the report in our Firebase Realtime Database so we can investigate it. A submitted report can include:
- any screenshot you choose to upload;
- your Firebase UID and display name;
- your browser's user agent string; and
- the page URL you were on when you reported.
This technical context helps us reproduce the problem. Please avoid including personal or sensitive information in a screenshot.
Where your data lives
Wefty's Playground shares its backend — the Firebase project named “wordweft-game” — with our companion word game, WordWeft. Authentication accounts and database storage are provided by Google Firebase and are handled under Google's infrastructure and security. Sharing the project means a single Google sign-in and account may span both Wefty's Playground and WordWeft.
What we do not collect
- No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
- No sale or sharing of your data with advertisers or data brokers.
- No collection of your location, contacts, or device sensors.
Deleting your account and data
You can have your account and associated data — your authentication record, leaderboard entries, and any bug reports tied to your UID — deleted. Email us at wordweftgame@gmail.com from the address you signed in with (or include your display name and, if you have it, your UID) and we will remove them. You can also stop all anonymous data collection at any time by clearing your browser's site data for wefty.net.
Children
Wefty's Playground is family-friendly and does not knowingly collect more than the minimal data described above. If you believe a child has provided data you would like removed, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of the page. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
